What we Believe

We believe that youth impacted by violence and poverty, when given the chance to lead in their communities, can improve their own lives and the lives of others.

How We Do It

Strong hearts and strong minds make capable leaders. Our programs develop social emotional learning skills through customized curricula. We offer training and ongoing support, as well as rigorous assessment -- all of which build capacity at our partner sites. We support mentors in carrying out a transformational program, which develops participants’ skills in areas such as collaboration, resourcefulness, and accountability.

Our Impact

We know that there is a powerful link between Social Emotional Learning and success in school and life. Emotions affect our ability to learn! Positive, caring relationships with teachers and mentors increase students’ ability to learn.
